Deepening the Eight Movements and Kumbhaka

with Naomi Zeitz, authorized 2nd level instructor

November 18 to 22

This course can be a good preparation in a stronger understanding and base in Kumbhaka for the 5 Pranayama course with Fabio Andrico (December 27 to 31)

The Eight Movements, or Lungsang, Purifying the Prana, is the second of the three preliminary series of Yantra Yoga. Each of the preliminaries serves different functions in terms of breathing and movement, the coordination of which is a fundamental principle of Yantra Yoga. The Eight Movements can be viewed as a kind of ‘heart’ of Yantra Yoga with very profound training in four types of breathings and four types of holdings with the aim of creating a base for all of Yantra Yoga and also to deepen the experience of the holdings.
Since Kumbhaka requires an understanding and mastery of breathing and holdings, what better place to begin the journey to more knowledge and application of Kumbhaka than with the Eight Movements?
We will explore basic breathing techniques to increase awareness and capacity of breathing and we will deepen the experience of the Eight Movements with the aim of using all of this study and practice, together with engaging in some basic pranayama training, to have a better theoretical understanding, and through practice, an increased capacity of the practical application of Kumbhaka.
Experience of the Eight Movements and Yantra Yoga and Transmission from ChNN required.
Naomi Zeitz met her Master, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, in 1987 in New York City. She is an authorized 2nd level Yantra Yoga instructor, authorized by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu for the first level in 2008 and second level in 2010. She has also been authorized to teach Harmonious Breathing by Fabio Andrico.
